Bartholomew (Bartley) Kane married Catharine Holmes in Nov 1861 in Wisconsin. They started their family of eleven children in the town of Holland, Brown Co., Wisconsin. They moved to Waseca County, MN in 1883.

Obituary (Waseca Radical June 6, 1888): "Mr. Bartley Kane of Iosco was buried yesterday. Mr. Kane died Sunday very suddenly. He cared for his stock in the morning, ate his breakfast, complained of feeling ill and laid down. When spoken to a few minutes later he was found to be dead. Mr. Kane was father of Mrs. O'Keefe of this place." (source: Jim Holmes FAG #47142602)
