Effie Mae Brinton Peasley, daughter of Thomas and Emma Hollingsworth Brinton, was born in Andrew County near Union Star, Mo., on Nov. 18, 1876 and departed this life Jan. 13, 1946, at her home in St. Joseph, Mo.,at the age of 69 years, one month and 25 days. She was a resident of St. Joseph for 40 years.
She was united in marriage Sept. 17, 1893, to Chester B. Peasley, and to this union three children were born; Mrs. Hazel Lizar and Mrs. Cordela Golder, both of St. Joeseph, and Ruby B Peasley of Junction City Kansas. Surviving are two brothers Ben B. Brinton of St. Joseph and Charles O. Brinton of Lakin, Kansas, and a sister Mrs. Marchie Hook of Martinsville, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Effie Mae was converted and joined church at Brooklyn, Mo., when she was quite young. She was a member of the Women's Benefit association, was a great home lover and tenderly cared for her aged father, and mother who preceded her in death a few years ago.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 16 a the Fleeman's Chapel in St. Joseph by Dr. E.L. Robinson. Music was furnished by a trio. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery St. Joseph.
