Chester Byron Peasley son of Aaron and Mary Bostick Peasley was born at Postville, Iowa, June 12, 1874, and departed this life Sept. 20, 1946, at the age of 72 years, three months,and eight days. he was a resident of St. Joseph and had lived in Kansas City. He was united in mariage to Effie Mae Brinton Sept. 17, 1893, who preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1946. To this union three children were born. Mrs. Hazel Lizar and Mrs. Cordelia Golder, both of St. Joseph, Mo., and R.B. Pasley of Junction City Knasas. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Julia McCoy of Kansas City, MO, and three brothers, Aaron Peasley of Long Beach,Calif., Friday, Harbor, Wash. and Frank Peasley of New Hampton, Mo., three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was converted and joined the Methodist Church at Brooklyn, Mo., He was a barber and worked in this trade until he took sick one year ago and was tenderly cared for by his two daughters until death took him home. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 23, at Fleeman's Chapel in St. Joseph, Mo., by E.L.Robison. three hyms "In the Garaden," "Going Down the Valley,"and "The Old Rugged Cross," were beautifully sung by a mixed trio. Interment was in the beautiful Memorail Park Cemetery by the side of his wife, who preceded him in death eight months ago. Floral offerings were many and beautiful. Pallbears were LeRoy Hameline,Alfred Ratliff, Reed Rainey, W.H. Miller and Sidney Daniel.
