Death of William Wamsley

William H. Wamsley, aged 63 years who has spent many years of his life in this county, died in St. Joseph hospital Saturday, where he had only been taken the day before. He had been in poor health several years. Funeral was held Monday forenoon in Merchant's Asotin chapel, the funeral being preached by Rev. J. D. Lewellen, and burial was made in the Asotin cemetery.

The deceased was a member of a pioneer family who resided many years at the mouth of Ten Mile creek, a few miles up Snake river. He farmed for a number of years near Craigmont, Idaho, and then moved to Montana and later to Oregon. He returned to Asotin about five years ago.

In 1904 he was united in marriage to Mammie Ables, and to this union two children were born. In 1917, he was again united in marriage to Bertha Sarter, and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Clair, Craigmont, and Kenneth, Eugene, Ore., and Bernadine and Doris Wamsley, Eugene; two brothers, Sam Wamsley, Asotin; Arch Wamsley, Lapwai, and four sisters, Mrs. Adeline Taylor, Miss Angie Wamsley, Asotin, Mrs. Clara Lougee, Spokane; Mrs. Lillian Marshall, Arizona.
