Native of Asotin Dead At Spokane

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Evelyn Lougee, 76, native of Asotin and long-time resident of Spokane, who died Wednesday morning at her home at Spokane, will be conducted at 10 tomorrow morning at the Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, Spokane.

Death came on her 76th birthday. She had been suffering from a heart affliction, but was not confined to her bed, and she had risen as usual that morning and had just brought in the morning paper.

Mrs. Lougee was born Clara Evelyn Wamsley June 15, 1879, at Asotin, and was one of a family of 11 children, only one of whom now survives, Mrs. Al Marshall of Buckeye, Ariz.

She was married to Herbert G. Lougee Jan. 28, 1898. They were divorced more than 30 years ago.

Besides her one sister, Mrs. Lougee is survived by 18 nieces and nephews, eight of whom are residents of this area. They are Mrs. Zena Carpenter of Lewiston Orchards, Dale Wamsley of Culdesac, Jack Wamsley of Weston, Ore.; Ellis Wamsley and Mrs. Meda Crawford of Craigmont; Mrs. Florence Davis of Coeur d”Alene; Clair Wamsley of Asotin and Amos Vance of Asotin. Mrs. Veda Wamsley of Lewiston is a sister-in-law.
