Gracie M. Sampson

Gracie May Sampson, 94, of Massillon, Ohio, formerly of Arnoldsburg, died Wednesday, August 16, 1989 at the Massillon Community Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born in Richwood, a daughter of the late A.C. and Marri Hines Jackson.

She is survived by three daughters, Stella Tanner of Massillon, Ohio; Lorraine Stanley of Streetsboro, Ohio and Mary Starcher of Cleveland, Ohio; six sons, Elmer and Virgil Sampson, both of Spencer, Robert and Harold Sampson, both of Arnoldsburg, Russell Sampson of Palestine, Cecil Sampson of Massillon, Ohio; 39 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sampson; three sons, George, Rosco and Andy Sampson; one daughter, Lida Butler.

Services were held Saturday at the Orma United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The Stump Funderal Home, Arnoldsburg was in charge of arrangements.
