Mrs. Emmie Lee Sloan Reed, age 81, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013.
Mrs. Reed was a native of Hancock County, the daughter of the late James Luther Sloan and the late Lucy Lena Carr Sloan and the widow of the late Marcus Allen Reed. She worked as kitchen manager for Golden Pantry and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was predeceased by Daughters Louise Johnson, Diane Lewis, and Elaine Johnson, Son Jimmy Johnson, Sr. and granddaughter Deanna Johnson.
Survivors include her sons John (Bonnie) Johnson, Sr., Sanford (Karin) Reed and Gordon Reed all of Milledgeville; grandchildren Carol (Thad) Walker, Teresa Patterson, John Johnson, Jr., Hattie Johnson, Kylee Reed, Jimmy Johnson, Jr., Jesse Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Tonya Robinson, Jim Brookins, Amy Hester, Christy Sanders, Alex McQuain, Christopher Welch, and Joshua McQuain; 8 Great Grandchildren; sisters Sara (Bob) Horn, Rosa Lee Robinson, Martha Garner; brothers Walter Sloan and James Sloan; and Niece Frances Joyner.
