SLOAN, JAMES S. SR. Age 85, a resident of Albuquerque for the last 41 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was born in Milledgeville, GA on July 14, 1929 to James L. Sloan and Lucy L. Carr. He is survived by his daughter, Denise C. Case of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Teressa and husband Steven Hatley, James S. Sloan III and wife Renee, Ryan Sloan, and Christie Sloan, all of Albuquerque, NM; ten great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Tonie, Trey, Jerry Jr., Sean, James IV, Zachary, Layna, Jencie, and Lilith, all of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Sara Horne of Miami, Florida, Martha B. Garner, and Rosa Robinson-McCant of Milledgeville GA; and brother Walter R. Sloan of Milledgeville GA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara Sloan, son, James S. Sloan Jr; sisters Lucy M. Alford, Emmie L. Reed and Shirley Felder; brother James L. Sloan Jr. James S. Sloan Sr. entered the United States Air Force where he proudly served during the Korean War. He worked for Duke City Bumper for 37 years until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm and Services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, (505)565-1700, with Pastor Robert Sinclair.
