Services for James Luther Sloan, Jr., 66, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2003 in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Wright officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Sloan died Friday, December 19th. Mr. Sloan was a native of Hancock County. He had made his home in Baldwin County for most of his life. He was the son of James Luther Sloan and Lucy Carr Sloan. He was retired from the City of Milledgeville Water Department, and was a Veteran of the U.S.Army. He had been a member of the Hardwick Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Nona Benford Sloan of Milledgeville; a daughter, Leslie Jill Veal of Milledgeville; a son, Dustin Sloan of Milledgeville; sisters, Sara Horne of Miami, Rosa Lee Robinson, Martha Garner, Emmie Lee Reed, all of Milledgeville; brothers, Walter Sloan of Milledgeville, James "Bubba" Sloan of Alberquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Those who wish please make memorial contributions to Cancer Specialist of Georgia. Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Milledgeville in charge of arrangements.
