Jane was married to Arie C. deJong on March 6, 1888 by the Rev. Jan Smit, pastor of the Third Reformed Church of Pella, Iowa. They rented farms in Prairie and Richland townships, Mahaska County, until they purchased their own farm in 1914. This was south of Peoria in an area known as Lower Grove.
Jane and Arie had 12 children - Mary, John, Martin, Richard, Margaret, Jacob, Peter, Wilma, William, Gerrit, Herman and Anne.
Jane and Arie along with 16 other families organized the Peoria Christian Reformed Church which had it's opening service April 11, 1894.
Jane lived a quiet, godly life and four of her sons became ministers. When she passed away, she was living with her son, Rev. P.A. DeJong in Leighton, Iowa.
