Clarence Brumley, 30, farmer of Steele, was killed and three other persons were injured, two seriously when an automobile they occupied, crashed into the rear of a truck which had been left on the highway between Clarkton and Holcomb late Monday night.

Brumley died shortly after being taken to the Cochran Hospital in Holcomb.

Those injured include Miss Margie Stockley, 25 of Caruthersville, and R.C. Pike of Steele. They were taken to the hospital at Holcomb, where doctors described their conditions as serious. The other occupant of the car, B.C. Nunnery, received minor lacerations.

Brumley, a member of the Steele Lodge No. 859, is survived by his wife, Mildred Brumley, one son, Autrey Maness, five daughters: Cherry Jo Ann, Eula Faye, Janis, Clara, Phyllis B. and Della Brumley of Denton; four brothers: Claude Brumley, of Steele, Sgt. Andrew Brumley, overseas, Golder Brumley of Denton, Cpl. Larry Brumley and three sisters: Pearl Jarred of Bragg City, Mo., Edna Bradley in Tennessee and Gaither King of Steele.

Funeral services are incomplete, but German Undertaking Co. will be in charge.
