Edward Carl Cade was born on February 3, 1893 to Benjamin Hale Cade and Mary Lizabeth James(daughter of Martin James and Mary Forbes),in Content, Coleman County, Texas.

Edward has thirteen brothers and sisters; Louisa(1869), Bessie(1871), Samuel(1875), John(1877), James(1879), Noah(1881), Thomas(1883), Grover(1884), Dollie(1886), William(1888), Myrtle(1888), Anna(1891), and Viron(1893).

In 1909 his father moved the family from Texas to Oregon. His father was a farmer, and Edward helped around the farm till he was older then he drove a truck hauling logs for one of the logging company's.

Not sure just when Ed met Susan Lena Powers who was also born in Texas, daughter of John Alexander Powers and Nancy Ann Davis. They moved to California before 1917 as their daughter Lila was born on June 15, 1917. they had another daughter Devonia in 1927.

Ed died on August 13, 1974, at the age of 81.
