Grover C Cade was born December 1884, to Benjamin Hale Cade and Mary Lizabeth James in Content, Runnels Co, Texas. He had seven brothers; Benjamin, John, Noah, Thomas,William, Edward, and Viron; three sisters; Dollie, Myrtle and Anna; and two half-sister's Louisa & Mary(from his father's marriage).

On June 13, 1906, Grover married Annie Clementine Elder, daughter of William Elder and Charlotte Belle Gunnels, at Tahoka, Lynn Co, Texas.They had an infant born 1906 and died same day. On November 16, 1908, their son Martin Emmett Cade was born.

On September 3, 1909, Grover died at his home after ailing only a few days. He had only stayed in bed the day before he died. It was a shock to family and friends. Grover was nearly 25 yrs old when he died. Grover and his infant child share the same headstone at Tahoka Cemetery.
