William Earl Cade was the son of Benjamin Hale Cade and Mary L James. William was born in Ballinger, Runnels Co Texas. His family moved to Oregon and that is where he met Alta Francis Furnish and they were married 5 Jul 1916, Albany, Linn Co. Looking for work they went to Alaska. Here is where their first daughter Dorothy (1917)was born in Douglas, Alaska. Again searching for work they went back to Washington & then Oregon. Here in Albany, Oregon their other three daughters were born: Grace (1921), Beverly (1930) & Mary (1933).

William worked in the forestry service as a timber logger in Oregon. During the summer months, he served in the forest fire alert program. He was known to most as Bill. He belonged to the E.U.B. Church while living in Albany. He and Alta came to Texas after retirement in 1955 to be closer to their family. He died in Slaton where they had live since 1955. He was a wonderful person.

An attachment for his youngest daughter, Mary Jane Cade Wolf. She was born June 5, 1933 in Albany, Linn Co, Oregon. When she died from cancer in Fort Mohave, Mohave Co, Arizona, on December 10, 2001 her request was to have her ashes spread over her parents graves in Texas. Her husband Glenn and their daughter Debbie, did this for her.
