In 1900, John was still living with his parents in Scurry Co, Texas. Some time before 1905, John married Willie Mae Byrd the daughter of William P and Melinda J Byrd. They had three boys: Herman(1905-1910), Edward 'Eddie'(1906) and Clarence(1908). Eddie gave them at least two grandsons. Not sure if John had any more grandchildren or not.
Willie Mae, had the flu which developed in to pneumonia. She died because of the pneumonia on September 30, 1935.
John married Martha Ellen McGee, the daughter of William James McGee and Martha Jane McCool, on February 5,1945 in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., Texas.
John's line of work was a laborer in the construction field.
John died on January 27, 1966, at the age of 89. He is buried at Fairmount Cemetery with Willie Mae in the plot for the Byrd Family.
