Mary Leslie was the daughter of John Leslie, an Irish immigrant. She married David McKee Lowery in Newburg, Orange County, New York on March 9, 1853 at the Associate Reform Church there.
Her and her husband had twelve children - two while they were in New York, and the rest while they resided in Center Township in Rock County, Wisconsin.
