Evan Grant Lowry was the eighth child of twelve born to David and Mary (Leslie) Lowry. He married Lillian Gibson on February 19, 1896 in Janesville, Wisconsin. They had three children (Evan, Allen, and Kenneth). He was a conductor for the Northwestern Railroad as was his brother, Lewis. He lived in Janesville until his wife's death in 1920.
