He was born June 15, 1896, in Stockbridge, Calumet County, a son of Math and Barbara Vieh Propson. On Oct 11, 1921, he married Appolonia Joas in Stockbridge. She died Feb. 15, 1960. March 25, 1966, Mr. Propson married Frances Dunbar in Green Bay.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Barracks 2205, Veterans of World War I, Calumet County.
Mr. Propson was the assessor in the town of Stockbridge for 18 years.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kloten, and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Esther) Heiner of New Holstein, Mrs. Elmer (Marie) Perl of St. Anna and Mrs. Sylvester (Stella) Gerner of Brothertown; three sons, Clarence of Stockbridge, Norbert of Chilton and Gordon of New Holstein; a stepson, James Dunbar of Green Bay; 26 grandchildren, a step-grandson and four great grandchildren.
Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral Mass was Monday in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial in the parish cemetery.
