JOHN W. LETCHER 86, of 407 N. 10th St. Selah, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Shaw & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral.

John "Jack" Letcher was born August 1, 1887 at Ada, Minnesota to John and Margaret Letcher. The family moved to Antler, North Dakota to homestead. Jack has lived primarily in the Yakima, Washington area for the past 25 years. Before moving here he was a painter at Grand Coulee. He retired in 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zada Letcher of Selah, 3 sons, Eddie of Yacolt, Washington, Victor and Walter of Great Falls, Montana; four daughters, Mrs. Loretta Lake of Ephrata, Mary Rickard, Great Falls, Montana, Ida Mickels of Maxwell, Oregon and Irene Preston of Lincoln, Montana and 5 step-daughters and two brothers, Daniel and Phillip Letcher of Yacolt, Washington and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Peterson of Chicago, Illinois and 16 grandchildren.
