Edwin "Bud" Letcher, 76, long time McKenzie County resident died at a local hospital on Friday, June 26th.

Edwin was born on Feburary 15, 1883 in Dodge County, Minnesota to John and Margaret Letcher. At an early age he moved to Antler, North Dakota with his parents. After his father died in 1907 the family moved to McKenzie County where Edwin helped rear his younger brothers and sisters.

He married Jennifer Walcott in 1914. They had four children in Waterford City, North Dakota; Edwin Jr. in 1914 and Dorothea Frances in 1918, and twins, a daughter and a son who died at birth.

Edwin homesteaded in the Northwest corner of North Dakota where he aquired over 1000 acres and was a wheat farmer. He married Myrtle Hovelburg on April 22, 1925 in Alexander, McKenzie, North Dakota. To this marriage were born Betty Jane in 1927 and Paul Arthur in 1928, Glen Orvin in 1931, and Nadean in 1932.
He married his brothers ex wife, Ida Underhill, on Dec. 20, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana.

Edwin Letcher died on June 26, 1959 in Williston, North Dakota. Rosary will be said at the Everson Funeral Home Chapel Monday. Father C.B. Walter will officiate

He was buried in the Riverview Cemetery in Williston.

He is survived by his wife, Ida. three daughters, Mrs. Dorothea (Carl) Gluesing II of Covina, California, Mrs. Betty (Robert) Joseph of Williston and Mrs. Nadean (Don) Lynn of Covina, California; two sons, Paul (Naomie) of Torrence, California and Glenn of Westminster, California
