In 1940 she and her parents and five siblings lived on a farm they were renting for six dollars a month on Templeton RD1 in Boggs Township, Armstrong County, PA. Her father was on relief.

Flossie M. Anderson McKain, 79, of Kittanning, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, Febuary 29, 2012, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 27, 1932, in Templeton, to Incel and Martha (Sanford) Anderson.

She was married to the late Dale McKain Sr. on May 20, 1950.

Flossie attended Kittanning Alliance Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Roy) Bowser, of Latrobe; sons, Dale Jr. (Faith), of Kittanning, Daniel, of Adrian, and David, of Rural Valley; grandchildren, Sam and Jacob Piper, Jody McCullough, Ben and Emily McKain, Amanda McKain Slagle, Chip, Joe and Andy Bowser, Allie McKain and David McKain Jr; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Janetta Atherton, of Mosgrove, Elsie Slagle, of Templeton, and Hazel Reedy, of North Carolina; and brother, Edward Anderson, of Templeton.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dale Sr., who died March 6, 2004; infant son, Joseph; daughter, Cindy Piper; sister, Grace Lockhart; and brothers, Eugene, Clinton "Pete", Kenneth, James and Roy Anderson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the KENNEDY AND BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, in Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at 11 a.m. at Kittanning Alliance Church, with the Rev. Mark Appleby officiating. Interment will be at Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
