Martha Jane (Sanford) Anderson, 89, formerly of Templeton RD1, Pine Twp. died Tuesday afternoon July 19, 1983 in Wesley Manor Health Care Center.

She was born March 25, 1894, in Porter Township, Clarion county, the daughter of Elmer and Nettie (Shanafelt) Sanford.

She was a member of the Templeton Church of God.

She is survived by four sons, Charles of Kittanning RD6, Kenneth, James and Edward, all of Templeton RD1; five daughters, Mrs. Fred (Grace) Lockhart, Mrs. Ralph (Janetta) Atherton and Mrs Jerry L. (Elsie) Slagle all of Templeton, Mrs. Hazel Reedy of Kittanning and Mrs. Dale (Flossie) McKain of Kittanning RD2; one brother, Lester Sanford of Kellersburg; 47 grandchildren; 83 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Incel C. Anderson, who died July 12, 1972; two sons, Eugene and Leroy; three infant daughters; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, 1983 at the J.R. Kennedy Funeral Home, Kittanning with the Rev. James L. Monticue, pastor of the Wilson Avenue Church of God officiating. Burial followed in the Cochran Cemetery.
