Dale Eugene McKain Sr., 72, of Rayburn Township, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.
He was born March 17, 1931 in Rayburn Township to Joseph and Lenore (Remaley) McKain. He was a lifelong resident of the Buttermilk Falls area.

Mr. McKain retired from the R & P Coal Co. in 1994.

He attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a former member of the American Sunday School Union, Gosford Chapel.

He was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1412, a state certified blaster, and a former member of Construction Local 952 and Labor Union 1058.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at camp and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Flossie (Anderson) McKain, whom he married May 20, 1950; three sons, Dale McKain Jr. and his wife Faith and David McKain and his wife Penny, of Kittanning and Daniel McKain of Adrian; two daughters, Mrs. George (Cindy) Piper of Kittanning and Mrs. Roy (Sharon) Bowser of Latrobe; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Joseph W. McKain II who died April 10, 1951; two brothers, Robert Crissman and Paul McKain; and three sisters, Daisey Cogley, Eileen Vasquez and Bessie McKain.

McKAIN — Friends of Dale Eugene McKain Sr., 72, of Rayburn Township, who died March 6, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with his pastor the Rev. Mark Applebee officiating. Burial will be in Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
