3636 Eagleson Rd., Gladwin, died
Friday, Feb. 8, 1991, in the Mid-
Michigan Regional Medical Center-
Midland, after a long illness.
Born in Gladwin, April 13, 1900,
she had spent her lifetime here.
The former Bertha Cassiday, she
was married to Guy VanHorn on
April 22,1917, in Gladwin. He died
Nov. 25, 1965. She then married
Matthew Douce and he died July
20,1971.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Betty
Hospodar, Maggie Swanstra and
Donna Banchoff of Gladwin; one
brother, Bernard Cassiday of
Midland; 13 grandchildren; 27
great grandchildren; 7 step great
grandchildren and 2 great, great
grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by 2 daughters, Hilda
Wandre and Irene VanHorn; a
brother and a sister.
Services were held Monday at 1
p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews
Funeral Home. The Rev. John Mc-
Cullough officiated and burial was
in the Highland Cemeterv.
