Maggie M. Swanstra, 69, of 5250 W. M-61, Gladwin, died Wednesday, July 1, 1992, at her home after a long illness with cancer.
Born in Gladwin County Nov. 11, 1922, she has spent her lifetime here. She was a member of the Gladwin Free Methodist Church.
The former Maggie VanHorn, she was married to John Swanstra on Aug. 23, 1941, in Beaverton. He preceded her in death Jan. 28.
Surviving are one son, William of Gladwin; 4 daughters, Linda Warner of Beaverton, Nancy Mielke and Janet Rudy of Gladwin and Darla Hahn of Coleman; 2 sisters, Donna Banchoff and Betty Hospodar of Gladwin; and 12 grandchildren.
Services were held Friday at 3 p.m. from the Free Methodist Church. The Rev. Burton Kincaid officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Free Methodist Church. Arrangements were in charge of the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. Gladwin County Record dated 7-8/1992
