Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. Nov. 16, 1942, p. 14:3. Joseph M. Abler, 68, a lifelong resident of the county, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Loehr, Campbellsport, R. 3. Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday from the Zacherl funeral home and at 9 a.m. from St. Matthew's church in Campbellsport with burial in Calvary cemetery in this city. Son of Peter and Mary Abler, he was born Apr. 5, 1874 in Empire and resided in the Town of Osceola until the death of his wife, Mrs. Katherine Abler, on April 4, 1942. Besides Mrs. Loehr he leaves a son, Nicholas of Empire; two grandchildren, Patricia Anna Loehr and Katherine Ann Abler and two brothers, John of this city and Michael of Dallas, S.D.

Funeral services for Joseph Abler, who died Sunday, were held at 8:15 a.m today from the Zacherl funeral home and at 9 a.m. from St. Matthew's church in Campbellsport, the Rev. John Bertram officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, in this city, where the Rev. A.C. Biwer of Campbellsport officiated at the grave. Pallbearers were William, Peter and George Eggers and Karl, Michael and Nick Giebel. Those attending the rites included Mrs. Bernard Kolb of Schiller Park, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. August Pitz, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Pitz, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Pitz and Mrs. Arthur Soloman of Oshkosh.
