Ruth Edith Ahlheim, 84, of 300 North 7th St., Murphysboro, died Tuesday, Nov 11, 1980, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

She was born to C. C and Anna Jane Clipner Bullar on March 3, 1896, in Murphysboro.

She first married Hugh Reeder in Murphysboro on Feb 16, 1916. He died on March 18, 1925.

She then married Otto Ahlheim on Feb. 27, 1927. He died on May 13, 1944.

Mrs Ahlheim was a retired worker at the former Brown Shoe Co. in Murphysboro.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Eastern Star, St. Joseph Hospital Auxilary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7190, the American Legion Auxilary Post 127, and the Rebekah Lodge of Murphysboro. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Murphysboro and the Jackson County Nursing Home Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Imogene LaPlant and Naomi Potter, both of Murphysboro, and Edna Bretsch of Overland, Mo.; two sons, Hugh Reeder of Ava and Leroy Ahlheim of Murphysboro: six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruby Keppler of Miami, Fla, Helen Whitson and Sadie McBride, both of Murphysboro.

Six brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro, with burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
