Charles D. Buller, 86, of 1408 Manning St., Murphysboro, died Sunday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born April 20, 1881, in Murphysboro, the son of Chris C. and Ann Clippner Buller. He was married Oct. 23, 1909, in Memphis, Tenn., to Ella Williams.

Mr. Buller was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He had been an elder in the church 45 years.

He was an engineer for the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad, and retired in 1961 after 60 years of service. He was a member of the Locomotive Engineers union.

He leaves his wife; daughters, Mrs. Fearn Kleaueland of Sun City, Ariz., and Mrs. Ella Mae Edwards of Webster Groves Mo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Chris of Murphysboro; and sisters Miss Jennie Buller, Mrs. Helen Whitson, Mrs. Ruth Ahlheim and Mrs. Sadie McBride, all of Murphysboro, Mrs. Alma Bradley of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Ruby Keppler of Fort Myers. Fla., and Mrs. Edna Levinson of St. Ann, Mo.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Lee Pope Ward officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery.
