C C. Bullar, a resident at 1691 Edith Street for many years and one of Murphysboro pioneer and most esteemed citizens, died at his home at 3:41 o'clock Friday night, April 1, 1924. The deceased had suffered two strokes of paralysis. His health had been going down for several years. He bad been ill during the last year.

Mr. Bullar was born in Warren County, Tennessee, September 2, 1853. He took to wife Miss Anna Clipner in Murphysboro in 1880, the year he chose Murphysboro as the city of his choice. The union was blessed with the issue of 15 children.

Deceased came to Illinois at the age of seven years. He settled at Du Quoin Perry County and later at DeSoto Jackson County, coming to Murphysboro when 27 years old....

C. C. Millar was a contractor. Years ago he operated a stone quarry and did some of the biggest masonry contracts in Murphysboro building prior to a decade ago. The Logan hotel is one of his biggest works. Through years of honest work, he won a competency and the deep respect of his fellow citizens as a citizen and straightforward, earnest man.

Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He joined the Odd Fellows 34 years ago and was awarded a 25-year I. 0. 0. F. jewel. He also belonged to the Miriam Rebekahs.

Funeral rites will he conducted at the Presbyterian Church Sunday at 2:30 o'clock, W. P. Hoskins, former pastor of the church in Murphysboro, will officiate. Odd Fellows will have charge.

Interment in City Cemetery, 14th and Poplar Streets.
