Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pettett Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Mrs. Whitson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Murphysboro Seniors Citizens Center, the Jackson County HIA and the Jackson County Nursing Home Auxiliary, a member and past worthy high priestess of the White Shrine, and a member and past matron of the Electa and Ruth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born Dec. 3, 1897, in Murphysboro to Chris and Anna (Clipner) Bullar.
She married Freeman Whitson in 1916. He died in 1957.
Survivors include one sister, Sadie McBride of Murphysboro; and one nephew whom she raised, Chris Berger of Mercer Island. Wash.
Six brothers and seven sisters also preceded her in death.
