Grace L. Ploeger, 97, died Friday at her home on Rt. 5, Ellensburg after a long illness. She was born July 28, 1883 at Bordeaux, Washington, a daughter of the late Bruce and Ada Dodge. The family had pioneered in Western Washington, traveling by covered wagon to the Olympia area.
She was graduated from the then Ellensburg Normal School in 1925 and married Charles W. Ploeger on September 9, 1926. They farmed on his family spread, originally purchase from the railroad for 25 cents per acre. She was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband preceded her in death on January 20, 1945.
Survivors include four brothers, Bradley M. Dodge of Woodburn, Oregon; Glen R. Dodge of Gate; Milton B. Dodge of Talent, Oregon; and Dean P. Dodge of Trout Lake. Four sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral is Monday, 2 p.m. at Evensons Chapel. The Pastors Mickey Meyer and Bill Poole will officiate and burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
