Pauline Fay Wolff, 77, of Granite City, IL passed away at 4:58 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 2, 2007 at her home. She was born Dec. 1, 1929 in Bloomington, IN, the daughter of the late Harry Albert and Mary Ann (Empsom) Crites. She married Frank Charles Bertelsmann on Nov. 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She retired in 1991 from Castle Haven Nursing Home after many years of dedicated services as a nurses aide. She was a dedicated member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City and will be remembered for the love of her family and the special times spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Charles Spratt Sr., of Pontoon Beach, Sharon and Bill Polacheck of Freeburg, Mary Ann Wolff of Granite City; four grandchildren, Amanda Burch, Sabrina Wolff, Daniel Spratt, Charles Spratt, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Carolyn Spratt; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Marie Crites of Indiana, Robert and Janice Crites of Indiana, David and Betty Jo Crites of Colorado; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Henry of Indiana, Margaret and Russell Farris of Indiana; and other extended family and dear friends.

In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Paul Crites; two brothers, Albert and Sam Crites and one brother-in-law Warren Henry.
