Albert Edward Crites, 73, Underwood, IN, died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, IN.

He was born in Unionville, IN and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of the old L&N Railroad and the present CSX Railroad in Louisville, KY. Memberships included the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Charlestown.

Survivors include his widow, the former Wilma M. Barrett; whom he had married on Nov. 21, 1944; three daughters, Diane Crites and Sandra K. Clark, both of Bloomington, IN, and Phyllis S. Hill of Scottsburg, IN; three brothers, Bill Crites of Columbus, Bobby Crites of Bloomington, and David Crites of Del Norte, CO; three sisters, Virginia Henry of Edinburgh, IN, Pauline Crites of Belleville, IL, and Margaret Ann Farris of Spencer, IN; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at the Kingdom Hall in Charlestown. Jeffrey S. Smith will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be arranged through the staff of the Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, to benefit the Charlestown Congregation of Worldwide Work.
