David Hawkins, 80, of 304 S. Green St., Sandwich died Tuesday in his home. He was born March 19, 1884 in Kell, Ill., Jefferson County.

He married Evie Sollis on June 8, 1902, in Jefferson County.

Survivors are his widow, Evie; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Smith of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Opal Casner and Mrs. Reva Livingston, both of Sandwich; two sons, Bruce Hawkins of Joliet and George Hawkins of Plano.

Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Zetta Blankenship of Sandwich, Mrs. Gladys Hoadley of Kaneville, Mrs. Iva Pate of Whiting, Ind., and Mrs. Hazel Scarbrough of Elgin; two brothers, Elmer Hawkins of Mt. Vernon, and Roy Hawkins of Texico; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Modern Woodmen of America.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Emanual Baptist Church. Rev. B. B. Boaz will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sandwich.

Friends may call at the Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich, after 2 P.M. Thursday.
