He accepted Christ as his personal Savior. At an early age, his family relocated in Charleston, MO where Lawyer attended school. In his late teens the family moved to Detroit, Michigan were Lawyer subsequently became an employee of the Ford Motor Company, Rouge plant from where he retired in 1980.
Lawyer passed away on April 22, 1982 in Metropolitan Hospital after a short illness.
He leaves to mourn his passing; his devoted wife, Mozel; his daughter, Elfreda; five brothers, Mack, Jess and Willie of Detroit, Bert
Richardson of L.A. California and Allen Henderson of Detroit; two sister, Marie Smith and Rosie Lee Blair of Detroit and a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and other relatives and many loving neighbors and friends.
