Mr. Welker was born January 5, 1905 in Kurreville, the son of George and Amanda "Fannie" (Bryan) Welker. He married Della Seabaugh on August 29, 1938 in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1961. Mr. Welker worked as a farmer from 1943 to 1975. He was a member of Old Salem United Methodist Church in Millersville.
Surviving are his companion, Beulah Foister of Kurreville; three brothers, Fred (wife, Lizzie) Welker of Millersville, Lyman Welker of Jackson and Leslie Lee (wife, Beatrice) Welker of East Alton, Illinois; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Niswonger of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Dessie Newell of Oak Ridge, Mrs. John (Jean) Schreiner of Jackson and Mrs. Charles William I (Ollie Marie) Hager of Taylorville, Illinois; one half-brother, William Welker of Cape Girardeau; one half-sister, Mrs. Clara Gagnepain of Perryville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Otis Welker; three sisters, Sadie Welker, Connie Green and Cloa Stevens; and two half-brothers, Edward Welker and Charles Chester Hunter I.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 1986, at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Newell officiated, with burial following at Old Salem Cemetery in Millersville.
