Dona Brackett, age 92 of Eufaula died Tuesday. Funeral Services were held Friday, at 10:00 a.m. in the Merritt Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Boney McIntosh officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons.
Mrs. Brackett was born in Polk County, Arkansas, January 4, 1895. She was of protestant faith and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl W. Brackett, Sr. who died in 1980; a son, Willard who died in 1976; two daughters, Novis, who died in 1930 and Vera who died in 1985.
She is survived by four sons, Willie D. Brackett of Joplin, Missouri, Charles (Sam) Brackett of Stidham; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Womack of Cameron Park, California, Mrs. Rosie James, Mrs. Retha Edwards and Mrs. Gearlene Hearod all of Eufaula; two half brothers, Boggus Whisenhunt of Checotah, and Bane Whisenhunt, Texanna; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ruth Winkle, Mrs. Velma Smith and Mrs. Willie Brinsfield, all of Checotah; 30 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
