Rosie was born on January 26, 1925 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Carl Willard and Dona (Whisenhunt) Brackett. On February 16, 1942, she married Harold James, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1998. They lived in Midland, Texas from 1951 until moving to Eufaula for retirement in 1985. Rosie was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include: two daughters: Janice Hedges and husband, Fred, of Austin, TX; Judy King, of Anahuac, TX; one son, Terry James, of Bullhead, AZ; sisters: Gladys Womack, of CA; Retha Edwards, of Eufaula; Geraldine Hearod, of Eufaula; brothers: Byrl Brackett and wife, Verna, of Eufaula; JR Brackett, of Eufaula; granddaughters: Jill Duvall and husband, Jerry, of Houston, TX; Tammy King-Richard and husband, Lawrence, of Anahuac, TX; Amber Ferry and husband, Mike, of Ft. Worth, TX; and Heather Hedges, of Austin, TX; great grandchildren: Brooke McCauley and husband, Steven, of Baytown, TX; Reagan Richard; Hudson Richard; Hadlee Richard, all of Anahuac, TX; Emma and Hedges Ferry, of Ft. Worth, TX; two great great granddaughters: Whitney and Waverly McCauley, of Baytown, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Dona Brackett; her husband, Harold James; and six brothers and sisters.
