Carl Willard Brackett, Sr., 85 of Stidham, died Wednesday July 16 in Eufaula Municipal Hospital.
He was born November 17, 1894 in Raymondville, Texas County, Missouri, the son of Almoren Brackett, and Mahala Roper Brackett. He lived most of his life in the Stidham and Eufaula areas. He was a retired farmer at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Dona of the home; four sons, Willie Dale Brackett, Joplin, Mo., Charles (Sam) Brackett of Stidham; Byrl L. Bracket of Eufaula; and Carl W. Brackett, Jr., of Stidham; five daughters, Vera Sutton, Rupert, Idaho, Gladys Womack, Shingle Springs, California, Rosie James, Midland, Texas, Retha Edwards of Eufaula and Geraldine Hearod of Stidham; a brother, Jim Brackett of Locust Grove, Arkansas, 29 Grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Novis in 1930 and a son, Willard in 1976.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18 at Stidham Baptist Church with Boney McIntosh, minister officiating. Judy and Carl Johnson provided the music.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery of Eufaula.
Mr. Brackett's Grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Deannie Brackett, Alan Brackett, Roger Brackett, Erney Brackett, Rocky Brackett, Bim Brackett, Gerald D. Hearod and Wayne Hearod.
Kelley Funeral Home of Eufaula was in Charge of arrangements.
