Services for Mrs. Vera Mae Sutton, 70, of Eufaula were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Merritt Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Boney McIntosh officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery and relatives were pallbearers.
Mrs. Sutton was born June 21, 1915, at Eufaula, Oklahoma, the daughter of Carl Willard Brackett and Dona (Whisenhunt)Brackett. She died Saturday at a Checotah Nursing Home. She lived many years in Oakland, California and Idaho before returning to Eufaula five years ago.
Survivors include a son, Lemuel W. Burns, of Rupert, Idaho; her mother, Dona Brackett, of Eufaula; four brothers, Willie Dale Brackett of Joplin, Missouri, San Brackett and Carl Brackett, both of Stidham and Byrl Brackett of Eufaula; four sisters, Gladys Womack of Cambrian Park, California, Rosie James of Midland, Texas, Retha Edwards and Gearlene Hearod, both of Eufaula, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
