Claude Covert Corman, son of John and Anna Corman, was born at Oak, Nebr., August 14, 1891, and departed this life September 30, 1961, in the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 17 days. He grew to manhood and lived in this community throughout his life.
He was united in marriage to Christena Bower on January 20, 1915. To this union one daughter and four sons were born.
He became a member of Christs Evengelical Lutheran Church by baptism at Davenport, Nebr., on April 17, 1927, taking an active part in the work of the church while his health permitted.
He was a member of the Fraternal Orders of the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons, Knights Templar and the Eastern Star.
His parents, one sister, one brother and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Christena, his daughter, Mrs. Boyd Jones of Edgar, his sons, Loyal B. and Vernon L. of Edgar, Irvin C. of Gering, Orris V. of Bridgeport, and sixteen grandchildren; one brother and five sisters, F.A. Corman of Oak, Mrs. Nora Hineline of Davenport, Mrs. Faye Kincannon of Oak, Mrs. Ray Fletcher of Superior, Mrs. Anna Link of Exeter, and Mrs. Fred Nunamker of Hastings; and other relatives and friends.
Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 3, at Christs Evangelical Lutheran Church in Davenport with the Rev. Henry Dumler officiating. Interment was made in the Davenport cemetery (sic).
