After attending Davenport High School and Kearney State Teacher's College, she was a rural school teacher in Nuckolls County for several years.
January 20, 1915, Christena was united in marriage to Claude C. Corman at Geneva, Nebraska, and they resided in the Davenport vicinity all of her life.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport, very active in many areas of the church work while her health permitted. She was a 60 year member of Tyre Chapter 266 Order of the Eastern Star at Oak, Nebraska.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Claude, September 30, 1961; her parents; one son, Loyal; one sister, Grace Johnson; and one granddaughter, Cynthia Corman.
Surviving to mourn her departure or her daughter, Wilma Jones of Edgar; three sons, Irvine of Gering, Orris of Bridgeport and Vernon of Edgar; one sister, Clara Boyek of Lakewood, Colorado; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Peace Lutheran Church at Davenport with Rev. Fred Wolf officiating. Burial was in the Davenport Cemetery.
