WAYNESBORO – N. Kathryn Helman, 73, 434 Fairview Avenue, did at 12:45 a.m., March 11, 1983, in Waynesboro Hospital.
She was born April 2, 1909, in Waynesboro, daughter of the late Daniel I. and Daisy Sheffler Harty.
She was employed by Wayne Manufacturing Co., Connie Sportswear and Waynesboro Knitting Co. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Archie F. Helman; four children, Mrs. John Brewer, Justina Spangler and Lemar Helman, all of Waynesboro; and Mrs. Jacob Shockey, Blue Ridge Summit; foster daughter, Mrs. Roger Byers, Fort Loudon; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Harty, Cascade, Md.; and nine half-brothers and sisters, Mrs. Merle C. Tracey, Smithsburg; Mrs. Wayne Cluck, Gettysburg; Ralph Stoops and Mrs. Merle Sprenkle, both of Waynesboro; Harry Stoops, Jr., Five Forks; Margaret Gonder, Juanita Ruhle and Mrs. Glenn Wagaman, Chambersburg; and Mrs. Willard Widmer, Philadelphia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grove Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Reese will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
