MRS. HENRY DEAN TAKEN BY DEATH

New London -- Mrs. Henry Dean, 62, mother of 14 children, five of them now deceased, died at Mercy hospital at six o'clock Thursday morning. She had been a patient there since Sunday morning when she suffered a stroke.

Maggie Myrtle, daughter of S. Harvey and Jesse Walker, was born in Burlington, October 18, 1890, and was married at Burlington June 2, 1908 to Henry Clay Dean.

For the last eight years, the family resided in Danville. Mr. Dean survives, also the following sons and daughters: Edward Pearl Dean, Morning Sun; Deaniel Harold Dean, Mediapolis; Mrs. Viola Hodge, Pickstown, South Dakota; Jesse Dwight and Clifford Rodger Dean, Edmonds, Washington; Mrs. Gertrude Gibson, and Mrs. Henrietta Lenhart, Sperry; Horace Clay and Grant Gordon Dean, Danville. There are 21 grandchildren.

Two brothers and three sisters survive also, Jessie Walker, Len Walker, Mrs. Effie Bruer and Lee Walker, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Lela Keller of Anita.

Services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Danville Methodist church with the Reverend Harold Olson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Loper cemetery at Sperry. The body will be taken directly from the Elliott chapel to the church.
