Mrs. Effie D. Breuer, 85, a former resident of Burlington, died in Keokuk Area hospital, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16. She was a resident of Montebello Manor nursing home at Hamilton, Illinois.
A native of Des Moines county, she was born March 13,1893, the daughter of Jesse and Susan Harvey Walker. She married George H. Breuer February 14, 1917, in Des Moines county; he died in August of 1942.
Surviving: Two sons, Melvin F., Collinsville, Illinois, and George W., Kirkwood, Illinois; brother, Lee Walker, Holliday, Florida; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's Chapel; North Walker cemetery.
