Debs Eugene Williams, 90, son of Robert Lee Williams and Lora Bell Williams, was born Jan. 19, 1914, west of Sayre, Okla. He died Feb. 25, 2004, at Sayre, Okla.
He grew up on Benton Road at Sayre and attended Victory School.
He married Violet Mae Wheeler May 27, 1939, at Sayre, Okla. In 1953, they moved to Medford, Ore., where he was shop supervisor for Harry and David Bear Creek Orchards.
He could repair anything from his daughters' dolls to heavy industrial equipment.
After he retired, he and his wife moved to Houston, where they lived 15 years before returning to Sayre in June 1995.
He made a profession of faith in 1949 and became a deacon in 1957. He was a member of First Baptist Church at Sayre. Wherever he attended church, he volunteered as a handyman to help keep the equipment running. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lily, Lissie and Ethel; three brothers, George, Fred D. and Jack; and 11 half brothers and
sisters.
Surviving are his wife of the home; two daughters, Vanci Jean McQueen of Elk City, Okla., and Darla Sue Hart of Tuscon, Ariz.; one brother, Calvin Williams of Canadian, Texas; one sister, Eva Lou Green of Lawton, Okla.; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 28 at the First Baptist Church in Sayre, Okla., with Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre, Okla.
