He was born Sept. 29, 1919, at Sayre, Okla. In 1939 he married the former Rosile Adel Plueger. Before being drafted into the Army, he worked at Douglas Aircraft for seven years during World War II as a machinist and supervisor. After his discharge, he and his wife owned and operated Williams Poultry for nine years. They sold the business in 1956 and moved to Oregon. In 1975 he and his wife owned and operated Williams Plumbing for 12 years. He later went into land development, which resulted in Kirkham Hill and Jackadel subdivisions. He was instrumental in the original development of Jubilee Park in Cave Junction. Before his retirement, he was active with the Illinois Valley Rural Fire District.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Jackie Wright of Cave Junction; three grandchildren, Robin Owen of Chicago, and Russ and Richard Wright, whom he helped raise, both of Grants Pass; three sisters; two brothers; and three great-grandchildren.
