Max Goppert
Max Walter Goppert, 74, of Ruskin, Fla., a native of East Liverpool and a retired potter, died Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at a hospital in Orlando, Fla., after a long illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1892, son of the late Fred Goppert and Clara Sittig Goppert. He left here in September 1963. He had been an employe of the Homer Laughlin China Co. He was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, an honorary member of the IBOP and a life member of the Odd Fellows Lodge here. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Lotia Goppert, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Miller and Mrs. Dorothy Hughes, both of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Wilda Congrove of Apopka, Fla.; two brothers, Adam Goppert of Clearwater, Fla., and George Goppert of East Liverpool; six sisters, Mrs. Hilda Allison, Mrs. Sara Stoffel and Mrs. Irene DeLong, all of Chester, Mrs. Clara Hall of California, Mrs. Mary Young of East Rochester, and Mrs. Pauline Boughner of Vanport; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Kampmeyer, Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday.
