Mrs. Clara Goppert

Mrs. Clara Goppert, 76, widow of Fred G. Goppert, died today at 9:45 a.m. in her home on the Chester- Newell Road, near Chester, following a long illness. Mrs. Goppert was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Purity Council 4, Daughters of America. She leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Clara Hall of Southgate, Calif., Mrs. Margaret Cline, Mrs. Sarah Hubbard, and Mrs. Hilda Allison of Chester, Mrs. Mary Young of East Rochester, Mrs. Irene Moore of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Mrs. Pauline Boughner of Ohio view; four sons, Max Goppert of East Liverpool, Adam Goppert of Chester, George Goppert of Salineville, and Carl Goppert at home; two brothers, August Sittig of Canton, and Charles Sittig of St. Petersburg, Fla., and 45 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Her husband died six years ago. The body was taken to the Arner Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

NOTE: Clara's tombstone has her birth as 1873. This is a mistake. She was 76 when she passed away. WV Death Certificate #281 lists her birth date as 1872.
