JANESVILLE - Evelyn B. Aegerter, age 99, of 1212 N. Harmony Dr., died Sun., Jan. 11, 1998, in Mercy Manor after a short illness. She was born Nov. 22, 1898, in Janesville, the daughter of Cornelius and Julia (Schumacher) Kettle. Evelyn was a Janesville resident her entire life. She married Godfrey Aegerter on Nov. 5, 1917, in Janesville; he died Feb. 9, 1966. She worked at General Motors ordinance during the war and was retired from Parker Pen Co. after working there 23 years. Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Janesville.
She is survived by her daughter, Bettie Buehl of Janesville; 5 grandchildren: Thomas (Linda) Aegerter of Janesville, Charles (Marie) Aegerter of Stoughton, Judith (Michael) Aegerter of Janesville, James (Vicki) Buehl of Janesville, Gayle (John) Reining of Burlington, NC; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Kettle of Carson City, NV. She was preceded in death by her husbdand in February of 1966; her son, Ralph Aegerter in May of 1997; and her daughter-in-law, Frances Aegerter in December of 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 15, 1998, at St. John Lutheran Church, with Rev. Jeff Wild officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church. Schneider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
